As a New York fine art wedding photographer, I have always encouraged my clients to print the images I make for them. There is something about being able to hold their fine art wedding prints in their hand. It is a tangible piece of their wedding day, and in it are memories that will stir their hearts beyond their wedding day. They are heirlooms. They are keepsakes. They are permanent.
Sharing images with numerous people at the same time, for a fleeting moment on social media is wonderful. But, these digital images won’t have the impact, or rather the longevity they were intended to have, as does a printed photograph. These digital image files will disappear into your phone’s camera roll and not be looked at again… Maybe because you’ve taken hundreds more photos since then, or you got a new phone, or… your phone broke and your files weren’t backed up.
My husband and I have boxes of photographs of our families growing up that we share with our children. They remind us fun road trips we had growing up, pranks we liked to pull with our siblings and the not-so-great fashion choices we made. This is the legacy of photographs I feel we need to pass on to the generations that follow us. And what a better milestone than a wedding day to begin this legacy for your family.
Having a curated collection of your wedding images printed and displayed in your home, preserves your story and brings more life to it with every year that passes. These days there are so many beautiful ways to display your wedding images. For my clients who want an elegant and luxurious way to display their fine art wedding prints, I offer this handcrafted Italian leather folio. It is gorgeous!
I hope I have inspired you to print your favorite images and to find creative ways to display and share them with your family and friends!
